About Me, Lessons and Goals
My Story
I retired from the corporate IT space after spending 40 years selling and servicing the full gammet of office and networking technology. My first dive into office technology started with Dictaphone Corporation selling dictation equipment and then managing their Charleston SC office. A few years later I was hired by Xerox Corporation to be their computer specialist in the first “Xerox Store” opened in Atlanta, Marietta to be exact. After my tenure at Xerox, I worked for several other technology companies in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina and also for myself. The last 10 years of my career was spent as the Director of IT in senior living and healthcare.
Career Lessons
What I learned over my career was that most people struggle with technology. They tend to know just enough to do their job or work their phones. When it comes to technology at home, seniors and their families struggle to understand and use todays smart home tech. Remotes even get complicated when you have a streaming device, cable tv and a DVR. Also, as one ages they seem to have a whole lot less patience when things “don’t work like they did yesterday.”
Trez’s Tech’s Goals
My goal is to help as many seniors, their families and their friends as possible overcome their struggles with technology. To reach the largest audience I have started a YouTube channel as well as a podcast channel called “Trez’s Tech”. I create content that explains in easy to understand terminology what all of this tech is and how to use it.
I also sprinkle in a little bit of auto repair and restoration and tool reviews.

Join me as I unbox my “new to me” Lumix 12-60mm lens purchased from MPB and rated as “Like New.” I unboxed it and from what I can tell, it has never been used. This is my second purchase from MPB and won’t be my last. This lens is weatherproof so it should hold up

After years of trying to find the right heater for my garage, I believe I have found one that does the trick. My garage is not insulated and that makes for projects to be put on the back burner during the hot summer months as well as the cold winter days. I plan on eventually

I have been having an issue with my Craftsman V20 lithium-ion batteries for quite a while. At first I thought that it was an issue with the batteries so I contacted Craftsman’s warranty support, found on their web site craftsman.com and had the batteries replaced. I did a video on my experience. Their support was
